I will first briefly present the field of biometry and some of the challenges we are facing and then detail one of our last works.

Fingerprint matching can be seen as a special case of point matching where the objective is to compute a similarity score between two oriented points clouds. In this work we propose to model fingerprint matching with a factor graph. The matching process is driven by local groups similarities and uses Loopy Belief Propagation to iteratively converge to a globally consistent matching solution. This new algorithm has contributed to our successes in many fingerprint matching competitions.
